Jaclyn Haven, a genetic counselor, discusses how difficult it is to give someone news that may change their lives in a negative way. Jaclyn goes on to discuss the ‘Angelina Jolie’ effect. Describe the ‘Angelina Jolie’ effect and explain how Angelina Jolie’s decision has impacted genetic testing. Reflect on how you would react, and the choices you would make if you were given the same genetic information as Angelina Jolie.

The article by Megan Conrad explores the relationship between personality traits and birthing experiences. Describe the ‘Big Five’ personality traits from the article and relate these traits to aspects of the labor and birthing procedure.
