Often, within the United States, people tend to talk about supply chain management in healthcare without truly considering what those words mean. Supply chain management can directly impact costs, quality, and outcomes in patient care and healthcare spending. Watch the following video from LinkedIn Learning titled  Focus on supply chain management Links to an external site. . 

After watching the LinkedIn video, create a 5-7-minute educational video about the importance of proper supply chain management. Discuss a current process that can be simplified in your organization, facility, or department. Discuss the new process that can be used to make it easier for all impacted individuals.

As an operations manager, you often have to “think outside of the box” or get creative to reduce costs, while continuing to provide quality care.

In a separate document you need to:

· Provide support for your statements with in-text citations from a minimum of 3-4 credible sources. These sources should not be more than 3-5 years old. Two of these sources may be from the class readings, textbook, or lectures, but four must be external.

 

 

ASSIGNMENT 2

 

After researching recent industry articles on managed inventory in healthcare, create a workflow chart using  SmartdrawLinks to an external site.. This workflow chart should start with the inception of the contract and end with the organization receiving the materials and distributing them to patients.

The submission should include:

· APA title page,

· Complete flow chart indicating all steps within the process and all participants, and

· A two-page summary discussion of your findings and significance for practice.
